New UDP900 Owner initial impressions Thread

  • Ordered mine directly, and received it within 5-6 days via UPS.

Build date stated September 23, 2024, so hot off the griddle.

Outside shipping box was a bit beat up, but the product box inside was not and there was no damage to the player, which was heavily padded.

Hook up was straight forward and the update via my Network was flawless. Since this replaces a OPPO 83SE I recognized the menu and navigation was seemless.

2025 LG C4 OLED is my screen and playback was flawless.

Navigated around the players menu system and got my settings selected. I will use the  RCA "analogue out" with PCM for sound so I can use my physical media, (SACD, DVD-Audio, DAD's,H-DAD's,BluRay-Audio, BluRay) through my sound system.

Thoroughly enjoying both the audio and video experience as I run all my audio/video formats through this new player to get it all broken-in.

I have chosen "Source Direct" after toggling through the menu.

And I read about the hidden digital filters for audio and chose " Slow roll-off linear phase" for now.

Impressed with the soundstage out of the box, but will put a bunch of hours on it before serious evaluation.

Elegant esthetics. Built with heft. Flawless playback, no glitches.

  • Thank you@Magnetar Concierge

Can you post the graphics of the sound shaping that each of your hidden digital filters produce on the outputted sound?

Also, is it possible to add "NONE" to the menu?

And can you explain the function of the "delay"

  • @Bill Jones we are unclear as to what "hidden digital filters" you would be making reference to.

Delay function would create a adjustable delay to the audio signal being output.

    Thanks

  • As to the "Hidden Filters"......Long press of the Audio P button on the remote reveals a menu of equalizations to chose from......do you have the graphics for each filter to see how they are shaping the outputted music?
