How do I open the remote?

  Hi, I just bought a Magnetar UDP 900, and I can't figure out how to open the back of the remote to install the batteries. I read the Owner's Manual, and the directions were less than helpful. There's a drawing of the back of the remote, with a down arrow to open, and an up arrow to close. Since there's isn't an obvious battery cover like the majoriy of remotes, I assume the enitire back slides off; but try as I might, I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
